The Simple Technical Way To write SEO TITLES
Lets Assume for a second that You are, just starting out in the world of SEO (SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION)!
In that case, before you can write an SEO TITLE there are two – three key definitions I feel, you first need to understand and fully comprehend.
1- SEO (search engine optimization) –
*Simply put; all writing and content created by business owners, bloggers, journalist, news and more,… on the internet are created in a way, that follows a set number of rules created by various Search Engines.
*Search Engines – are where regular internet users go to search for information.
Search Engines, have a vast indexed database of Content from all around the web, which is strategically organized so regular internet users can find information, businesses and content creators depending on what that searcher intends to find.
Search engines simply give an indexed title and description of a particular business and or content that links to the original content creator’s Domain.
Google Search and Bing Search are two example of Search Engines that currently lead the market in this space.
Getting your content indexed by Search Engines, allows regular users, (people who use search engines to find/search information through-out the web) to find your content. Hence; the importance of following the strict rules created by Search Engines.
Properly following the Rules, is what every content marketer means when they use the term: Search Engine Optimization.
In other words, you’ve created content so optimized, that search engines can potentially index that content for other people to find it, since the world wide web, truly is vast.
2- Keyword(s)-
Keyword(s) and/or phrases are the next most important concept you must understand in order to fully write an SEO Title.
Remember; Search Engine’s index a lot of content through-out the web and then strategically organizes that information so regular users can search and find the content most likely to full-fill what it is they are looking for.
Well; that Strategically organized information, follows some known and unknow rules and methods that Search Engines use to make sure; they deliver the right content to the right user when they are searching for something.
Consider a keyword(s), and or phrase as the key, (ironically); to opening the door to the right content already indexed by a search engine.
Below is an image that explain how this process looks.
In the image above;
The regular user is using Google Search (a search engine) to find information about Blackpink’s Marketing Strategy.
In this case, the User has typed the keyword(s) and or phrase “blackpink marketing strategy” in the search box.
As a result of using these specific words, the Search Engine (in this case Google);
is opening doors to a set number of content in it’s indexed database, that their strategic protocols have determined closely relates to the Searchers’ intent.
Remember once again, that Search engines only show few details about the content in its-database that gives the user enough information on what link they should click on.
Specifically; Search Engines provide The SEO TITLE, the Meta Description and the link to the content Marketer’s Website Domain that it believes closely answers the searchers intent.
From the image above:
#1- is the SEO Title of the Content and a clickable link that leads to the full content which exists on the domain of the original content creator.
#2- Is what we in the SEO world refer to as the meta description.
The description simply gives a little bit of detail so the regular user that was searching for this specific content can make an informed decision before clicking on this link.
They would want to know; before hand, if this content truly has the thing they are searching for.
#3- is the name of the website (Domain) or the owner of the content which is most likely where the searcher will find his/her intended objective.
#4- Is the full address of the specific link to that content. Some experienced users may use this to first find out about the domain to see if they are trustable.
Or they may copy the link in order to share or open in a different browser as a means of caution.
The Important Takeaway from understanding these definitions, is to highlight to you the importance of first meeting the Searcher’s Intent.
When constructing your own SEO Title; if you understand the Searcher’s intent, the content you write answers the searcher’s query.
Then the Title becomes the icing on the Cake or to put it another way;
the Title to a book!
… which often times, gives a reader enough information to decide whether to purchase that book or not.
With the example given above… a simple phrase like “Blackpink Marketing Strategy” can be answered in soo many different ways and be explained in so many established written, text or video formats.
This is why SEO is so valuable! Not only is there a lot of competition, it can be very complex.
For example; if I were to define Blackpink’s Marketing Strategy from a technical standpoint, (maybe as s professor of Marketing)..
the words I would use, and the terms I would use will be very hard for the everyday reader to understand.
At this point; the Technical writer, is making an assumption.
The assumption is that; the future reader of this information is going to be someone who is very sophisticated with English and is somewhat well versed with Marketing Terms.
Also, imagine!
what other interpretations from this specific words “Blackpink’s Marketing Strategy” can be made by other writers?
Do I talk about just the marketing strategies that were used by Blackpink as I understand them or do I focus on how those marketing strategies can help you the reader?
**This Is why I stress the importance of understanding the Searcher’s Intent.
Also; I stress for all content marketing experts, to focus on the target audience they want to serve.
Because without doing so; here are just a Few Problems You Face In The SEO WORLD When You Want To Construct Your Own TITLE (that the Search Engine’s Understand):
1- Not knowing exactly how many people are searching for this specific Keyword(s) /phrase(s)
**There are tools that SEO Professionals use in their research processes in order to gauge the exact amount, and from where in the world those searchers are.
But it always comes down to your best guess.
2- In addition to that; as content writer’s, we have never sat down with the people making these searches; so what the primary intentions are behind these words yet again is…
Our BEST GUESS!
3- There is also the problem of not knowing or understanding all the rules and regulations set by these Search engines.
This might prevent your content from being indexed and or prevent your listing to rank high enough in the search results.
I know; you just wanted to know today, how to write SEO Titles.
But what I’ve done is give you a basic frame-work to go off of…
but I’ve also made sure to highlight the problems which makes it difficult to just answer this question by itself.
Sure… I could have told you that Google search engine wants you to write a title that has these many characters, and composing of keywords that have a history of many people using in search;
but,
that would have been a disservice to you.
Instead; you have enough understanding to know how to go about writing your own SEO TITLE; but
I am also hoping;
You’ve gain enough understanding to peek your interest in learning more About SEO (SEARCH ENGINE Optimization).
As such; I hope you check out my book which was design to transform your thinking in business and search engine optimization.
