“Be Consistent, Be Consistent, Be Consistent!”

This means if you are a creator, on Instagram or YouTube for example, you have to post everyday two to three times.

That is the only way you will get enough followers or subscribers. At least that is the advice from experts and coaches alike; and frankly, I see them as all the same people.

Individuals that are following the bandwagon, or puppets getting paid on the backend to push this narrative.   

Do you believe that is the case? Do you believe taking the advice from platform owners whose main objective is to keep you on their platform for as long as possible, is sound advice? I don’t know about you, but I would beg to differ.

HOW TO GET RICH BOOKS? MY RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE BEST LIFE CHANGING BOOKS?

Before You continue reading, I want to recommend some books that I believe will have the greatest impact on your life:

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF CONSISTENCY ANYWAY?

Oxford dictionary defines consistency as conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.

the key words being, conformity, and that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.

Based on this definition, why then do you think we (as online influencers and business owners) should follow this advice? 

It is not accurate, there is no logic behind it, and its not fair for individuals such as yourself to put your heart and soul on other people’s platforms without any positive gains. 

On top of that, what about the idea of conformity?

From all the studies I have done about successful companies and individuals that have reached great successes, conformity was the last principle on their minds. 

If this is the first article you’ve read from me, or the second, I hope you understand this is another opinion piece from me.

I like to lay it out on the table and as such, you should take my advice with a grain of salt. Just as you should treat any advice that comes to you.

Weather its backed up by data or not, because an advice sometimes can go against everything your mature brain knows to be false. 

I feel more for the kids that have not yet develop the mental capacities to fully weigh the value of advice given to them from the so call “experts.” I know I said, not to even trust data, but its important you understand that even that, can be manipulated to push a narrative.

We all can’t be scientists, but sometimes our internal compass knows more than the free willy advice that spreads like wildfire throughout the internet.  

Yes; this is an opinion piece from me. It will be entertaining, and in my opinion enlighten as always. 

Don’t Be Consistent, Don’t Be Consistent, Don’t Be Consistent.

At least, not in the way we’ve been taught. So what do I mean? 

SO, WHAT DO I MEAN ABOUT NOT BEING CONSISTENT? 

Well, take this scenario for example. 

Imagine, you are a boxer and you have a very important match coming in a few months.

You are facing an opponent that has angered you greatly. You believe you are the better boxer; so much so, that you have promised that you would knock him out, with your right fist in the 3rd round. 

let me repeat that. “You will knock him out, with your right fist in the 3rd round.” That is a bold promise, and you are not the type to fall short of your promises. You are known for that reputation. 

So, for this upcoming match, you have 3 months to train. 3 months to prepare your boxing skills to follow through with your promise. 

What will you do? Or more specifically, how will you train? 

Well according to the advice about consistency given by the so call “experts,” you would have to be consistent in training that right fist of yours. Meaning, for 3 months,  you will punch the bag with only your right fist. You may even do one right handed push-ups till the day of your match. 

DO YOU SEE NOW THE PROBLEM WITH CONSISTENCY? 

After 3 months and on the day of your match, you will just be a boxer with a severe handicap. A fully trained right fist, that may or may not be fully recovered and no chance of landing that finishing blow in the 3rd round.

Even if that right fist of yours is in prime condition, would you be able to last 3 rounds? Would you be able to land a blow on a professional boxer that is aware of your intentions?  

No. There is the issue of endurance, techniques, and maneuverers necessary to draw that boxer to the right place at the right time for a spectacular right fist killer. 

That is the major flaw with this idea of consistency for creators, marketers, and brand ambassadors alike. Posting 2 to 3 times a day, the same type of content hoping for a different result is a bad idea. Is it not a saying, that doing the same things over and over again, expecting different results is the definition of insanity?

If you understand this, then my friend, I advice you to stop being insane. LOL

 

HOW TO BE CONSISTENT?

See, I am not just a creator online. When I do post a video, I know other things have to come with it. There is the time for promotion, researching and understanding consumers likes and wants, testing and reinventing, and one and one survey actions that have to be done. 

Also, please do understand, I have followed the advice given by the so call “experts” and have seen the data myself. It is a one sided approach that does not help you to the goal unless done correctly.  

For the boxer in the above example, I would recommend,  a full round of training encompassing all the key areas to hit his goal. If I put myself in his position, I will hit the bag with my right fist and my left fist. In other words be consistent posting your content. 

I would do two handed push-ups, which in our online marketing world would relate to consumer surveys and proper data research. 

I would run fast and long as professional boxers should which symbolizes my consistent dedication to learning marketing skills and promotion avenues. 

I would shadow box, and tangle with opponents that match the skillset of my upcoming opponent. This in our online marketing world would be the idea of copying from successful individuals in my space. 

Lets not also forget to rest. We need time to reevaluate, step out and reenergize in order to find the passion that got us here in the first place.

I am a professional boxing marketer, content creator, thinker, branding expert with a 3rd degree black belt in being consistent in the right way.
